San Diego Coastal

The are surrounding Mission Bay to the north, east, and south, is collectively known as San Diego Coastal for its location along the Pacific Ocean just north of the urban center of San Diego County. Known for its beautiful white sand beaches, beautiful oceanic views, and charming neighborhoods, San Diego Coastal has become the preferred residential area for people who enjoy working in San Diego but living in suburban areas away from the hectic city life of the downtown. The San Diego Coastal region includes several neighborhoods and communities, most notably La Jolla, University City, University Towne Center, Clairemont, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Old Town, and Bay Park.

Mission Bay, a salt-water lagoon south of Pacific Beach is a part of Mission Bay Park, the largest man-made aquatic park in the country. The bay forms the center of the San Diego Coastal area and is known for its excellent water conditions that are favorable for those people looking to wakeboard, jet ski, sail, or even camp along its shores. Long trails and paths that circle the bay are perfect for cycling, jogging, or simply strolling along the shore. The majority of San Diego Coastal’s communities touch the Mission Bay area at one point or another.

Sea World San Diego is arguably San Diego Coastal’s largest and most prominent attraction. The marine life-centered amusement park features a number of different exhibits, shows, and explorations, including Journey to Atlantis, Dolphin Cove, Orca Tank, and Shamu’s Happy Harbor. The park makes excellent use of the surrounding bay and ocean area.

The University of San Diego is one of the biggest institutions in San Diego Coastal’s area and is perhaps one of the largest population draws for the region. The fluctuating campus population helps to keep San Diego Coastal youthful, energetic, and vibrant, thanks to the constant refreshing of the school’s student body. The school is also one of the largest contributors to the community. Residents who live in one of the neighborhoods in San Diego Coastal can be assured of a quality of living unsurpassed by any other community in San Diego County. This high standard is set because of the picturesque geography and location, exceptional resources and educational offerings, and convenience relative to San Diego and the rest of Southern California.
