Santaluz Real Estate Information

A housing development part of Black Mountain Ranch, Santaluz is a developing community in the northeastern part of the city of San Diego. The region is generally referred to as North County Inland. Santaluz makes up the northern half of the Black Mountain Ranch area. A convenient transportation network connects Santaluz the the surrounding area. Camino Del Sur links the area to State Route 56 and Interstate I-5 that runs along the Pacific coast.

The educational system that serves the students of Santaluz is still in development due to the relative youth of the area. Poway Unified School District provides the majority of campuses in Santaluz, through the newly-opened Del Sur Elementary, Willow Grove Elementary, and Del Norte High School. Residents often look forward to a great variety of events that take place annually and bring the community together. One of the most popular events is a July Fourth celebration that includes a vibrant fireworks show.

An abundance of golf courses provide exceptional recreational space of Santaluz’s residents. Some of the more popular courses include Fairbanks Ranch Countr Club, Del Mar Country Club, Morgan Run Resort and Club, and Rancho Santa Fe Farm Golf Club. While some of these aren’t immediately in the Santaluz area, they are all within a fifteen to twenty minute drive from the heart of Santaluz. The newly opened Willow Grove Park is just one of many neighborhood parks that serve the community.

Due to Black Mountain Ranch’s small size and Santaluz’s even smaller size, most commercial and retail areas are outside of the immediate area. The nearest shopping areas are in 4S Ranch to the north, Carmel Mountain Ranch to the east, and Torrey Highlands to the south. These destinations provide excellent grocery shopping and other general use outlets. However, most residents choose to travel into downtown San Diego to shop for clothing and other specialty goods due to the better selection thanks to the abundance of designer and name brand stores.
