4S Ranch Real estate Information

The unincorporated community of 4S Ranch is located in San Diego County east of Rancho Bernardo and east of the Santa Fe Valley. 4S Ranch is known for being one of only five San Diegan communities to be built in line with strict fire-safe construction standards. Such stringent regulations have resulted in not a single home being lost or damaged during a few fire scares in the area. To this day, the origin of the name 4S Ranch is not specifically known. The first owner of the area was Joseph Snook who obtained a large land grant to build his own ranch. It is believed that 4S stands for “4 Snooks” although that is nothing more than a loose hypothesis.

The community comes together every September when 4S Ranch hosts its annual Fall Festival where merchant stands, food booths, rides, and games line the streets of the community. Many families eagerly look forward to the event because of its family-friendly fun. Although 4S Ranch doesn’t have any golf courses of its own, residents can easily cross the I-15 interstate and take advantage of the variety of courses located in Rancho Bernardo. Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Course, Rancho Bernardo Golf Course, Oaks North Golf Course, Maderas Golf Club, and Stoneridge Country Club are all popular links for 4S Ranch golfers.

Recreation is an important part of 4S Ranch Residents’ daily life. 4S Ranch, City Park, Heritage Park, Poiner Park, 4S Ranch Sports Park, and Patriot Park are all located in 4S itself, making a community park nothing more than a short walk away for most local residents. A number of community organizations sponsor sports leagues that utilize the wonderful recreational resources available in 4S Ranch. The most popular organizations include 4S Ranch Youth Football and Cheer, 4S Ranch Little League Baseball, and the Boys and Girls Club Basketball.

The Poway Unified School District serves the educational needs of 4S Ranch’s youth. Del Norte High School and Mount Carmel High School provide exceptional educations to the 4S Ranch Youth, despite not being located in 4S Ranch itself. Oak Valley Middle School is the primary middle school campus for 4S Ranch students while both Stone Ranch and Monterey Ridge Elementary Schools are dedicated to students in grades K through 5.
